iOS
If you have an iPhone or iPad, it gets a little bit tricky, but don't worry because I'll explain every single step.
There are 2 methods to play this on iOS:
- Method 1. Using Edge (easiest method on iOS)
download Microsoft Edge from the app store on your device, go to the Files app, unzip the archive, long press on "spongeboycat game.html", click share, choose Edge and then click on "Open with Microsoft Edge".
- Method 2. Using iSH and a python3 web server
if you really don't want to get Microsoft Edge, you can instead download iSH on the app store. Once you open iSH, you will see a terminal. First, enter this command:
apk add python3
Then let it finish downloading and installing. After that, make a new folder by entering this command:
cd / && mkdir spongeboy
Now, go to your files app (do not close iSH) and unzip the archive. Long press on "spongeboycat game.html" and click Copy.
Go back to iSH you will see a settings icon (a gear) on the virtual keyboard of your iPhone/iPad, tap on it. Go to "Filesystems", choose "Filesystem 0" and then choose "Open in Files". This will open your file app. Navigate to the "spongeboy" folder you've created, then long press on the empty space inside it and click Paste.
Go back to iSH and start the web server by typing this:
cd spongeboy && python3 -m http.server 8000
Now, go to Safari (do not close iSH) and type in the address bar: "localhost:8000". The game will start on that Safari panel.
